Projects
Chris Burton Jácome Flamenco Ensemble
Acclaimed Flamenco guitarist, composer, and recording artist Chris Burton Jácome has served as Musical Director for Calo Flamenco, one of the nation’s largest flamenco dance companies, as well as his own ensemble, The CBJ Flamenco Ensemble. Jácome's ensemble can be seen performing in concert all across the country, including frequent performances in the Phoenix and Tucson. Adrian has been thrilled to be a part of CBJ’s artistic vision since 2004, interpreting the non-traditional role of bass in flamenco. Click here to visit CBJ’s website.

Flamenco Por La Vida
FLPV is more than just a dance company; it is an artistic community. Founder/Director Angelina Ramirez brings her passion for Flamenco to the people, producing a variety of shows throughout Arizona featuring artists from around the globe, as well as through instruction at her 5th Row Dance Studios in downtown Phoenix. Adrian performs with FLPV weekly at the historic Clarendon Hotel to an enthusiastic standing room-only crowd. Visit FLPV here.

Duo Som
Adrian has been performing with Valley guitarist Jeff Lauffer for well over a decade. Long ago the pair discovered many common influences and set out to interpret these influences within the context of a duo – guitar and upright bass. Among their strongest inspirations are music of Brazil and the approach of jazz pianist Bill Evans. Jeff and Adrian describe many of their tunes as “floaty,” as the music seems to float or drift over and in between the time, rather than explicitly providing the quarter note. They apply this approach to much of the standard jazz/Brazilian repertoire.

Yourchestra
An old-time folk band formed in 2006 as an outlet for jugband songs and free improvisation, Yourchestra has re-evolved as a 4-piece acoustic group playing fun renditions of old folk songs, blues, jug band, early swing, and more.

TAD Management Productions
Terry & Anne Davies produced their first string of tribute shows back in 1983, when they introduced the concept to the tourists in the Costa Del Sol in Spain. Today they continue to be on the cutting edge of the tribute market as they produce bigger and better productions featuring the finest musicians and vocal talent around. Adrian is thrilled to have begun working with the incredibly talented Terry Davies and TAD Management.

Past Projects

Badshoe
Although Badshoe officially disbanded in 2006, the band retains legendary status in the Tempe Jam Band scene, occasionally being coaxed into a reunion show every year or two. The band’s 2004 release ‘Cannonball Savant,' co-produced and engineered by Ralph Patlan, remains the pride of its members and its loyal fans. Visit the Media page for audio samples.

Jody Gnant
In 2006, Jody Gnant became part of the “One Red Paperclip” story by trading a year’s rent for a recording contract with Metalworks Studio in Mississauga, Ontario. (And by recording contract, we mean a little bit of studio time.) Jody asked Adrian to put together a band for the project and eventually persuaded him to take over production for the album, entitled ‘Pivot.’ Visit the Media page for audio samples.

Pangean Orchestra
Brainchild of Conductor Colin O’Donohoe, the Pangean Orchestra brings together instruments and performers from around the world in the spirit of unity to create a sonic blend never heard before. Having met Adrian in a jazz combo at Arizona State University, Colin brought Adrian aboard to join the traditional western rhythm section that formed the backbone for this international smorgasbord of sound in its debut at the Phoenix Symphony Hall.

Calo Flamenco – Ballet de Martín Gaxiola
Calo Flamenco is one of the largest Flamenco dance companies in the United States, formed in 2003 by Choreographer/Artistic Director Martín Gaxiola with the help of Musical Director Chris Burton Jácome (see above). Calo has toured throughout the United States, including its “sold out” New York City debut in 2008.

Briza Brazil
Led by saxophonist Jeff Jones, Briza Brazil took on many forms in its interpretation of Brazilian music, from the mellow bossa nova trio with nylon-string guitar and upright bass, to the raucous Batucada music of Carnaval.

Nick Heward and the Elements of Style
Nick Heward is one of the most talented singer/songwriters in Phoenix today. Nick can be seen performing regularly in the Phoenix area with his cover projects, although catching one of his original shows is a rare treat.
